How does Facebook show me ads on other apps and websites?

If an advertiser is part of Facebook's Audience Network, you may see their ads outside of Facebook. This may include apps and websites on your mobile phone or computer. Meta uses data to determine the most relevant ads for you, and to help the advertiser reach the types of users they want to reach. Learn more about how Meta shows you ads.
Audience Network connects advertisers with third-party app publishers who work with apps to show advertising. These apps offer ad space to multiple advertisers, or ad networks like Audience Network, through real-time bidding auctions. This means that apps (or third parties on their behalf) send out real-time requests to advertisers or ad networks such as Audience Network who may wish to bid on the right to show an ad in the app. The bid request may include information like the app you’re using and your device information, such as your advertising device ID. Advertisers or ad networks respond to the request in real-time with a bid for that ad space. The winner of the auction is then able to advertise on the app.
You can learn what influences the ads you see and how to manage your ad experience on the About Ads page. Learn more about the information Meta receives and how we use it in our Data Policy and Cookies Policy.
